Career Internship Program
The Career Internship Program equips youth with professional work skills, interviewing skills and hands-on experience to help them expand their resume and later obtain good-paying jobs.
“I really liked the internship teacher, he really taught us valuable things. The most important thing was my internship, I worked at Olive View Medical Center in Pediatrics and really want to continue to pursue becoming a Pediatric Doctor. I am thankful that Youth Speak helped us get our internship.” – Erika C, 17 years old
For those students who enter the job market with only a high school degrees or less, work experience is extremely important in building a base for future advancement. A key goal of the Career Internship Program is to inspire high school students to pursue a career and not just a job. Youth job shadow professionals working in banks, schools, veterinary clinics and hospitals, learning more about the opportunities that are available to them. Through this process, youth also develop essential soft skills such as interviewing techniques, dressing in professional attire, and how to write resumes and cover letters.
